SW Engineering Manager
As a software engineer, I am driven by the challenge of developing innovative solutions to complex problems and transforming our clients' concepts into tangible software applications. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the "Harvard of the southwest" Arizona State University, where I learned the foundational skills crucial to solving engineering challenges. Leveraging experience I gained early in my career as an automation controls engineer programming industrial automation equipment allowed me to transition into software engineering.
My diverse background has enabled me to contribute to a wide array of projects across industries including manufacturing, automotive, defense, medical, semiconductor, and scientific sectors. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of developing a variety of applications and systems, leveraging a comprehensive array of technologies. From industrial automation, robotics, and machine vision to developing database-driven manufacturing tracking and testing software, as well as crafting precise scientific measurement and control applications, I've consistently thrived on challenges posed by dynamic and multifaceted projects.
The diversity of challenges and projects is what initially drew me to Sigma Design where I continue to enjoy working on multi-disciplinary teams developing world class solutions to meet our clients' needs.

Questions & Answers
How do you make people laugh?
I try to maintain a general air of levity in any situation, but especially when things are stressful. I'm always looking for ways to cut the tension by embracing the absurd, extreme, unwarranted optimism, and sometimes a little self-deprecating humor.
If you were a tool or piece of equipment, what would you be and why?
I would be a computer. The combination of being able to swap out my components for newer and better capabilities and the ability to connect to the internet to gain access to the limitlessness of human knowledge means I could effectively do or be anything I needed to be.
What's your favorite productivity hack or time-saving trick?
I look for ways to automate many of the things I do. If I can spend 4 hours writing a script to save me a minute on some repetitive task I do frequently, over time small time save compounds very quickly into real time saving. I also get the added bonus of learning something new and exercising my current skills and knowledge to build the automation.
