Daniel Steinagel

Test Technician

I am always eager to learn new skills and love practical problem solving! I have a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for tinkering. With an intuitive understanding of how things work mechanically, I tend to get along quite well with machines, be it: assembly, testing, or troubleshooting. I would even go so far as to say I get along better with machines than I do people. However, that is not to say I don't enjoy socializing, in fact, I'd love to say hello! I delight in getting to know people. The better I know someone, the better I can assist them.

I work to support my hobbies. I have an interest (Crippling Addiction) in buying new tools and books. I am always listening to an audio book while I work. Whether laser cutting, 3d printing, machining, tinkering or even while playing video games, I gotta have my stories.

Questions & Answers

How do you make people laugh?

If I am not talking about work, I am trying to make someone laugh; its not always the person I am speaking with either. I am my own target audience.

If you were a tool or piece of equipment, what would you be and why?

I am going to cheat and say my tool box. I love being able to go to my tool box and take out a tool, tailor-made for whatever I am trying to do, whether that be fixing a leaky sink, building a fence, or repairing my car. That's actually one of the great things about Sigma, the wide breadth of knowledge. For whatever the issue, someone and their knowledge is the right tool for the job.

What's your favorite productivity hack or time-saving trick?

OneNote. 'Nuff said. Truly an excellent organizational tool. One great feature is the ability to take notes in any manner you like. Whether you like bullet points, checklist, pictures, or spreadsheets; OneNote can do it easily. The formatting options are endless; I even wrote my mother's family recipes into an interactive book, just to showcase to her how versatile OneNote can be. It's stored in the cloud, so losing my notes is no longer a concern. I love it so much, I use it in my personal life. Ask me about my No New Projects SI.
