Doug Hill

SVP of Strategic Accounts

With over 35 years’ of experience in management and sales, I currently oversee Strategic Accounts at Sigma and help create and implement company strategy.

I joined Sigma Design in 2000, as the Director of Business Development and have worn many hats over the years including IT Manager, Project Manager, VP of Onsite and SVP of Operations. I helped transform Sigma from a small mechanical engineering group into an award winning, vertically integrated product development company. Prior to working at Sigma, I spent 14 years in Real Estate Management and Sales. My education includes Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics and History.

When I'm not managing Strategic Accounts at Sigma, I enjoy hiking and fishing with my wife. I also spend time volunteering for archaeological work with the Forest Service and the BLM. I am a former President and Board Member of the Oregon Archaeological Society.

Questions & Answers

How do you make people laugh?

Mostly, I just show up. As you get older and hopefully wiser you realize those incredible dumb things you did with your misspent youth can be funny. So I share those stories and some can serve as a lesson to others on how not to do something.

If you were a tool or piece of equipment, what would you be and why?

What do you mean “if”? A cheap set of hex keys, because I’m well rounded.

What's your favorite productivity hack or time-saving trick?

If any task is less than a few minutes – do it while you are thinking about it.. don’t touch it twice. Also, tackle your hardest tasks/conversations/interactions as soon as possible. Put those on the top of your list and get them out of the way.
