Questions & Answers

How do you make people laugh?

Usually through taking a strong stance on something ridiculous. For instance, there was a a several week period where I insisted that the movie Masters of the Universe was a great film that we should all watch. Granted, I had not seen it since I was a child, and I was very, very mistaken.

If you were a tool or piece of equipment, what would you be and why?

I'm all about efficiency - so for me it is the lathe. The lathe is one of the few fabrication tools capable of fabricating itself. So in addition to fabricating components for a variety of other tools or equipment, I can support making more lathes. Eventually, world domination of my intelligent, self-replicating lathes!

What's your favorite productivity hack or time-saving trick?

As obvious as it is to most - a second monitor (or even a third) monitor for my computer. One that is the main focus for my work, one that provides references or utilities I need for that work, and a third for emails/calendar/chats. This way I can quickly glance at incoming messages and determine if it is urgent enough to stop my work, without having to stop what I'm doing.
