Michael Lyon

Process Engineer

As a Process Engineer with Sigma Design, I thrive on being part of a team that listens closely to the customer's needs and based on synergies with all team members, turns ideas and customer requirements into an exceptional solution for our customers.

My Background is in Mechanical Product Design and Process-Manufacturing Engineering. My work experience has provided me the opportunity to work, as a team member, developing products from concept design through volume launch, in many cases while leading in-house and international cross-functional teams inclusive of supply chain quality management and Manufacturing Plant Setup and Management in the U.S. and Off-Shore (Expat Philippines for 3 years).

Working at Sigma Design has given me the opportunity to work with exceptionally talented team members and a diverse customer and product base. This diversity of work is one of the most interesting and valuable aspects of my work here at Sigma Design. The ultimate goal for myself and the teams I work with is to help our customers achieve their goals successfully.

Questions & Answers

How do you make people laugh?

I always look for opportunities to have fun with my teammates. The motto, "Make 2024 Fun" that I have flashing across my small LCD on my desk keeps the idea alive.

If you were a tool or piece of equipment, what would you be and why?

I would choose to be a 3D Printer. 3D printers allow the free expression and realization of new design concepts without the formal constraints of many design rules needed to produce the part otherwise, pretty much print the net shape as conceived for initial prototypes analysis.

What's your favorite productivity hack or time-saving trick?

I utilize a project/task priority list that is updated in real-time. This starts the day off each day and takes into consideration any additional tasks that may have come up on the previous shift.
