1994
Sigma Design founded by John and Sue.
1997
Bill Huseby leaves HP and joins Sigma Design.
1998
Move out of John and Sue’s house to a small hole in the wall, 750 sq. ft.
1999
Move to 1500 Broadway, Vancouver, Washington, 4,500 sq. ft.
2000
Purchase first mill for the model shop.
2005
Expand into the building next door for a combined total of 5,200 sq. ft.
2007
Open Sigma Design & Engineering PTE, LTD in Singapore.
2008
Expand into building across the street for a combined total of 7,500 sq. ft.
2009
- Move Singapore office into 4,000-square-foot facility.
- Expand our services to offer Electrical Engineering.
2011
Complete remodel of our new world headquarters at
1714 Broadway, Vancouver WA., 12,000 sq.ft.
2012
Acquire our first environmental chamber - Beginning of Test Lab capabilities
2013
Expand our services to offer Software & Firmware Engineering
2014
- 20th Anniversary.
- Opening of our manufacturing facility (28,000 sq. ft.) in Vancouver, Washington.
- Hire our 100th employee.
2015
Acquire our first delivery vehicle to better serve PNW customers.
2016
Sigma Design wins Red Dot award for Industrial Design

Hire our 200th Employee

- Get settled into our new 56,000 sq. ft. facility headquarters

Celebrate our 25th Anniversary!

- Become ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certified
- Expand our services to offer Manufacturing
- Added 89,000 sq. ft. Advanced Prototyping Facility
- Relocated and expanded our Test Lab to our old HQ in Downtown Vancouver
2021
Become authorized via Intertek’s Panel Builder Certification Program to place the ETL Listed Mark on industrial control panels.
2022
- Began offering build support, engineering, and product development services to Pendleton UAS Range Customers
- Become ISO 17025:2017 Test Lab Accredited
2023
- Become ISO 27001 Certified & Receive CMMC
- Bill Huseby retires, and we threw an amazing party!

Since its inception, Sigma Design has been on an exciting path of growth and innovation. We began with modest roots and have grown into an active player in the engineering field, always aiming to go beyond what's expected and bring new ideas to the table. Along the way, we've built a strong community of talented individuals, all motivated by creative and forward thinking approaches. It's been a journey filled with successes, learning moments, and a lot of innovation, all of which have strengthened our determination to contribute positively and leave a lasting mark on the world.
