Mark Groenenboom
Senior Mechanical Engineer
I'm a mechanical engineer that enjoys the challenge of delivering simple, cost-effective, user-friendly, and elegant solutions to complex mechanical problems. I have over 25 years of experience. I have been with Sigma design since 2009 and I was the 15th Sigma employee. My experience includes designs for automation, high-volume consumer electronics, aerospace, medical devices, augmented reality, and projects for tech giants.
In my spare time, I enjoy designing, procuring, testing, marketing, selling, and supporting the products of my business, G|Bomb Longboards. G|Bomb components are benchmarks in the niche world of distance skateboarding. G|Bomb has been a hobby business for over 15 years, and I have enjoyed riding the designs with our daughters at distance skateboarding competitions around the US and Europe. Personally, I find it very rewarding to walk into big box stores and see items that I played a key role in developing. Sigma enabled this. Not only seeing the products our teams

How do you make people laugh?
Dad jokes and one-liners. Also, as a fairly serious engineer, I tell people "This is my happy look". That usually gets a chuckle.
If you were a tool or piece of equipment, what would you be and why?
I'd be a lever, a long lever. Let's move the world!
What's your favorite productivity hack or time-saving trick?
First thing: Always start the day with a good to-do list. I believe a well-crafted to-do list is a piece of art.
